Book Review: Whisper the Guns by Edward Cline

Every week (or thereabout) HGLEE.COM will review a book or film. Each work will have a brief review and a quick link to Amazon, should you decide to pick up a copy for yourself. This week's selection: Edward Cline's Whisper the Guns.
Cline writes with style and purpose about a no-nonsense American businessman who takes care of the cut-throat world of business in the same manner and with the same dispatch as he deals with armed thugs. Whisper the Guns introduces readers to Merrit Fury as he tries to determine why his partners in a Hong Kong import/export company are trying to buy him out of the firm.
Despite brushes with danger and several life-threatening encounters, Fury sticks with his dogged pursuit of the truth. Ultimately he discovers that the partners are peddling influence in an effort to corner the world market on tungsten, a metal integral to the global production of steel.
Fury teams with like-minded individuals and ultimately wins the day—at a very high cost, but one made outside the spririt of sacrifice. I look forward to future Fury installments with great anticipation!
